The original design. This was done in October of 1999 by April Love of Malu Tattoo, the same woman who did the rework on February 3. The pattern is one that I created... it's a loose celtic version of a pentacle, one that I can't ever lose. |

Proposed changes: I know I want the circle of vines around the original pattern, to symbolise growth and change. I'd like the pentacle itself to be filled in more... the lines darkened to make it look more like traditional celtic knotwork. Obviously parts of the original are too fine to really change, but hopefully this will work. The grey circle is meant to enclose the original... I want it in a pale grey so that it's only noticeable from close up. I think I drew this one too far out... the circle should be closer in to the pentacle, almost touching... The symbols inside the pentacle are the ancient alchemical symbols for fire and water... three guesses why I feel ready to add these parts. Hopefully they aren't too small/too detailed? The fire symbol I think should actually be just a black triangle filled with red... |
